Keep your deck out of water, heat and cold areas. The water softens the deck and makes it heavy. Heat can cause the deck to warp. Cold areas can make the baord brittle and weak. Glue chips back on with wood glue, sand down the edges and coat it with a varnish to help keep it feeling brand new.

Alien Workshop

Advantages:

Light. Alien Workshops are ligher than most decks.

Disadvantages:

They are not as strong as most decks.

Comments:

Alien workshops are not that good, unless you get a slick! The plain wood sucks, they snap pretty easy! If you get a slick they would last a lot longer.

A-Team

Advantages:

They have good pop, weight and flex

Disadvantages:

Not as strong expected

Comments:

This deck was really good up to a point where it just fell apart. Mine snapped after only a couple of months. Review by Josh Smit

ATM

Advantages:

They have good pop and flex

Disadvantages:

Chip easy

Comments:

These decks are really good! They flex alot! When I landed in the middle of the board it would flex and not crack or chip. The shape was good , good nose and tail, ok concave.

*UPDATE* I bought another deck, because I thought that, it would be just as good as my last one, it did have great pop, shape and concave, but oh was I ever wrong. I skated it a total of 6 times and it snapped, while doing an acid drop off a 5 foot ledge! I have changed my mind on ATMs' and will not buy another one again.

Arsenal

Advantages:

Strong and thick

Disadvantages:

Chip easy and are kinda heavy

Comments:

This was my first real deck. They chip kind of easy though. They are a bit heavy! The shape was ok, it was fat and barely any concave.

Birdhouse

Advantages:

Strong and thick, nice pop.

Disadvantages:

little bit heavy

Comments:

I have tryed my friends Birdhouse, and I would have to say that they have really good pop! I mean lots!! They are strong, but with a lot of strong boards comes weight, and that is the only thing that I can think of that is a disadvanage to it.

Lots of pop, but dont last long. Review by Neil Campbell

Perfect width for me, lots of concave and nice feel. It lasted 6 months, then the tail snapped. Review by Darrell

Blind

Advantages:

Stiff Glue makes the board rock solid, good pop and shape

Disadvantages:

They may chip or crack easy, but not sure.

Comments:

I have tryed a blind to see what it was like. The Stiff Glue made the board realy hard and made a cool snap sound when popping ollies. The shape was pretty good, the nose and tail where steep so it made ollies easier.

These board are the strongest boards ever! They last forever! Reveiw by Steve Hapercorn.

Blinds are crap! Review by Darrell

Blanks

Advantages:

Cheapest board you can buy that will last as or if not longer than most brand name boards

Disadvantages:

No common shape or strength , they all vary.

Comments:

These decks for me vary. I have had one for 7 months and one for 4 months. The shapes vary, I like steep everything and sometime the only 8 inch in the store will have mellow concave or mellow tail and nose, so I try my best to get the board that it good for me.

Better than a board with graphics, if you need a picture that bad, draw one! Review by Neil Campbell

Darkstar

Advantages:

Strong, stiff, light

Disadvantages:

Paint wears out a little faster then most decks (like the Muska)

Comments:

I like this deck alot, to me it is perfect, I did a casper flip first try on this thing! Review by Cory White.

Ya one thing. Just letting you know that i have a darkstar board and the one i have isn't that good. it dosen't have enough pop and concave in it. but it is just under 8" wide. Review by ???

dNA

Advantages:

Light, good concave and pop

Disadvantages:

Thin, not too strong, and too thin (width)

Comments:

Deck is light, shape and pop are good but thats about it. The board was too skinny for me so it snapped after only 4 months. review by Steve

My DNA is one fuckin good skate! Review by Darrell

Element

Advantages:

Light, good concave and shape

Disadvantages:

Thin and not too strong

Comments:

Deck is light, shape and concave is good, but not too strong because it is thin. Review by Mike Galvin

Game

Commentss:

Game boards have great pop and concave. The graphic lasted forever! BUT!! the board was not that strong. Review by Ryan Rogers.

They BLOW!! Review by Neil Campbell

Girl

Advantages:

Light and thin if you like thin boards.

Disadvantages:

Chip easy, smaller than most decks

Commentss:

They have good flip to them, but they chip easly! They are smaller then other decks. Review by Steve Tennant.

Habitat

Advantages:

Light, Good pop

Disadvantages:

None right now (still useing it)

New School(Blank)

Advantages:

Same as ATM

Disadvantages:

Never had problems

Comments:

I had this one for the longest time. I loved it! To me it was prefect! I have never found one like it again! They where strong but chiped about after 5 months of use.

Pipe Dream (Blank)

Advantages:

Nice pop, concave and shapes and cheap ($40) including grip!

Disadvantages:

Snaps and delams!

Comments:

This is the only board that I have stood on and was use to it right a way! The concave and pop where good! It did however snap after 3 months, but lately I have been going through boards fast so, i would say that it lasted pretty long for what I put it through.

Lasted me a long time, no delam, until Brian fuckin snapped it!!. Review by Darrell

Powell (Blank)

Advantages:

Strong, good pop, good concave and a coating of SSD.

Disadvantages:

Looks a little bit like a banana board.

Comments:

I was really "iffy" about getting this board, mainly because it looked a little bit like a banana board, but I am really glad I bought it because it is strong, has good pop and the shape is good and the SSD coating makes it slide really good over anything. If it holds up for a while I will for sure buy a new one.

They kick ass, lots of pop, long lasting, all around good boards. Review by Neil Campbell

Shorty's

Advantages:

Shit has got pop!! Strong

Disadvantages:

Heavy. Paint comes off with few tail slides.

Comments:

Even though i have never had one, i have had the change to ride one. They kick ass!! They are strong! The shape was really good, but the concave was not that steep as I would have liked it!

"This shits got NO pop!", plys where really thin and graphic come off very easy. Review by Ryan Rogers.

The sickest skate I ever had, lasted about a year! Then it was "punked" by some gay kid! Review by Darrell

Status

Advantages:

Light, nice shape and pop

Disadvantages:

Chips super easy, wears out quick.

Comments:

I finally bought a painted deck, just so I can say that I had one. Status used to be Zorlac, so I bought one of thier decks with out question. It was only 60 Canadian, so I thought it was a good deal. That is until I started to ride it. I wears out so quick, no wonder it was only 60! It has nice pop and shape. It is strong , but chips real easy. I have rode it for less than a month and the nose is killed. I dont think I would get another one cause I dont think it is worth it.

Think

Advantages:

Excellent pop, concave, strong

Disadvantages:

None yet.

Comments:

Great board! Had great pop, concave and is strong! Review by Darrell

Ture North

Advantages:

Paint doesnt come off that easy, ok pop, strong.

Disadvantages:

Doesnt slide that well, ok pop.

Comments:

I bought one a Snow Jam for 40 CND flat, so I couldnt go wrong. It does have a nice shape and the paint seems to never wear out, but the pop is ok, it is good, but not that great. Plus it doesnt really slide that well, it could be because I am use to Powell's SST coating. It is strong and does hold up well for what I put it through!

World Industries

Advantages:

Strong, shape lasts a long time

Disadvantages:

Chips after long period of use

Comments:

They are strong and last a long time, they have a good pop too!. Reveiw by Steve Tennant

Steve gave me his World board because I snapped my blank, I love it! I can't beleave that that board has lasted that long! It is amazeing! The slick bottom made it really easy to slide on anything.

Zorlac

Advantages:

Shape lasts long time!! Strong and medium weight

Disadvantages:

none

Comments:

I just got a Zorlac, It is longest lasting board that I have had in a while. It has lasted longer then I would have thought. I love the shape! The pop is really good and they are pretty strong.
